How do I handle non healing wounds?

There are two ways to understand this, the first is to deal with old physical wounds and the other way is to deal with mental trauma.

Physical Wounds

Ordinarily, the physical wounds should heal within 10-15 days.

For physical wounds that do not heal in this time, a surgeon is required to evaluate the wound. The use of dressing /debridement and antiseptics/antibiotics as directed by the surgeon should be done to repair the wounds. Some such cases may need skin grafting.

Factors such as diabetes, blood supply problems, neurological problems usually prolong wound healing and these should be controlled so that wounds can be healed.

Mental Trauma

Old mental trauma requires a completely different approach and even a psychiatrist may be needed for assessment and treatment.

Some meaningful suggestions for these people:
  • Take a balanced diet.
